Fired Earth Pottery opened in Appleton
in October, 1997. Rick McKinney is the potter, as well as the
owner of the studio and gallery. Rick specializes in high-fired
functional pottery. All the pottery is designed for use in the
home. It is lead-free, and microwave and dishwasher safe. Both
the fired clay, and the glazes, are waterproof. Rick welcomes
visitors to the studio, but please call ahead to
make sure he is there.
Fired Earth has an Annual

Pottery
classes are offered at Fired Earth Pottery. The classes are
taught right in the studio, so students have full access to
the facilities of a professional pottery studio, including over 50 glazes, and a variety of kilns. Sessions
begin in early September, early January, and early March.
